WELCOME TO C.H.E.F.!

Posted by CHEF of River Region at 03:00 PM on August 06, 2008

Hello and Welcome to All New and Returning C.H.E.F. members!!

I am excited about sharing the 2009-2010 school year with you.  The C.H.E.F. Board members have been busy discussing and taking steps towards making this year one of the best!

As you may have already noticed our webpage has been updated.  Some of the links are still waiting to be filled with new and upcoming infromation, stay posted, updates will be arriving soon.  We've also added a BLOG feature to our site this year.  Some of the parents expressed a desire to be able to ask questions to other parents in our group if needed, so the Blog will be a great way to do that.  So, feel free to ask questions, add experienced advice or even a yummy recipe.

We're looking forward to seeing you and your families again and getting to know some of you for the first time!

If you need anything, just ask, we're here to help in any way we can and make this year an enjoyable one for you and your family.

Many Blessings,

Rachel Schamberger

C.H.E.F. Secretary

For those who commented on how much they enjoyed my Mexican Layered Dip at the Kick off Party...Here's how you make it!

Mexican Layered Dip

1 can of refried beans
1 lg. container of guacamole
1 lg. container of sour cream
1 packet of taco seasoning
1 16oz. package of shredded cheese
1 tomato
2 small cans of sliced black olives

Spread 1st layer of Refried beans in cassarole dish; top with guacamole layer. Mix packet of taco seasoning with sour cream and spread as layer on top of guacamole. Spread a layer of tomato (chopped), then layer with shredded cheese, and finally a layer of black olives.

Enjoy with tortilla chips!!~

Hey everybody...

I need a bit of help. I am moving to Nola for my PhD in International Development and have a
brilliant 6th grader that I would like to place in a home school in New Orleans...

We will be travelling abroad often and I would like her to be better acclimated with home
schooling as she will often encounter this learning environment when we travel.

Please help me if you can...

Thanks
Sonita Singh, MPH

ps... there is a long long list of classes I would be willing to offer any homeschooling community
including African/Brazilian/Indian/West Indian dance, martial arts, meditation, yoga, vegetarian
cooking, etc. etc. etc

Hi Sonita,

Thanks for checking out our group, we'd be happy to help you in your quest to homeschooling. We are a group located in the River parishes which meets about 30 mi. away from NO, there is a homeschooling group in NO, which may be closer for you. You can find out more about that group by calling Carol McCloud @ 985-764-2354 or 504-931-0776. My e-mail address is rachelschamberger@comcast.net.
